Sanremo is an elegant and slightly retro city, overlooking the sea, with that Riviera of Flowers vibe that blends Belle Époque, music, and leisurely holidays. There is the lively center of Via Matteotti, the Ariston Theatre, the Casino, the beaches, the seafront cycle path, and, just above, the green hills that embrace it.
Hotel Des Anglais fits perfectly into this context: it is located in the Corso Imperatrice area, one of the most upscale parts of the city, slightly elevated compared to the center. This means an open view of the sea, more tranquility, and a decidedly elegant atmosphere, almost like a holiday retreat from a bygone era. It is close to the Casino, the Russian Church, and the seafront, while the livelier heart of Sanremo is easily reachable with a walk.
Charming, in Belle Époque style, it welcomes its guests in bright rooms with antique stuccoes and splendid crystal chandeliers, for a holiday in an atmosphere of another time. Fully air-conditioned, with reception, lounge bar, TV room, a well-kept restaurant, and a beautiful garden. It has 100 rooms in a classic style equipped with all comforts, spread over 4 floors and a fifth attic floor. It features a brand-new wellness center of about 200 sq.m. built in 2021. From around mid-April 2026, the hotel will offer an outdoor Jacuzzi (in front of the hotel), always open, and a small indoor fitness room (in front of the hotel), both services available to guests subject to availability. Rooms with shower, direct-dial phone, minibar, satellite TV, safe, hairdryer, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi.
Located in a quiet and panoramic position, approximately 200 m from the sea and beaches and approximately 300 m from the centre of Sanremo with its clubs and shops.
The Casino' is a few steps away and the famous Ariston Theatre is approximately 1,3 km away.
From the ancient rock of Des Anglais comes its SPA, a unique opportunity to regenerate senses and enjoy a moment of relaxation by the sea. The project of creating a Spa in Sanremo, was in fact born from a dream that the property has so lovingly conceived, designed and after much work, completed. The name derives precisely from the idea of creating a dream place, Somnia (dream in Latin) Aura Spa. The rooms that now house the wellness centre were once reserved for the servants of royalty, sheiks and nobles staying at the hotel, and were later used as warehouses and a laundry.
The Wellness Route covers an area of 200 square metres and includes a hydro- massage pool area and two relaxation areas where guests can regenerate their energy.
Expert wellness consultant will be on hand to provide advice and procedures for the various treatments, and massages, facials and body treatments are available by Appointment.
