Noli is still one of the few towns where fishermen's boats land on the seafront promenade in the morning to sell their freshly caught fish, as is traditional. The ancient village, which Dante mentioned in his Divine Comedy, is very charming and perfectly preserved. It is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and was once known as a Maritime Republic.
